LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The women wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria (Lajna Imaillah) has expressed concern over the rising rate of homosexuality and transgenderism, internet fraud among other vices.

National Sadr (President), Lajna Imaillah Nigeria, Hajia Taofeeqah Fagbolade, made this known while delivering her welcome address during the 44th Annual National Lajna Ijtema (conference) held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The body also warned Muslims against involvement in the atrocities and also expressed concerns over the rising urge to amass wealth in society “without a decided plan of any productive activity to actualise it.”

The theme of the conference was “Religion and Gender Diversity: Exploring the Nexus.”

Fagbolade bemoaned that religion “is being trampled upon with more ignorance about God.”

In its 11-point communique issued after the three-day event, the conference recommended that every home should be a school where the children learn Islamic values that shield them from bad companies and instil righteousness in them.

“The conference concluded that the progress of a nation is dependent upon women who are responsible for proper upbringing of their children in line with the true spirit of Islam,” the communique added.
