LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Andy Robertson has commended Mohamed Salah for his composed reaction to Liverpool turning down a £150 million ($189 million) bid for him from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.
Salah had been the subject of a substantial offer from the Middle East before the English transfer window closed, but Liverpool considered the matter closed, and Salah remains committed to the club with a contract until 2025.
Robertson, speaking about the potentially distracting transfer saga, said: “For us, we block that out, and Mo blocks it out.
“We have no concerns. Mohamed Salah is a Liverpool player, and we believe that will remain the case for the foreseeable future.
“He’s the ultimate professional. He does what he does, he is one of the best players in the world, and he remains professional.

He lets others do the talking, lets others say what they have to say, but he has always been committed to Liverpool, and you saw that with the performance he put in.”
Liverpool had rejected the bid, and Robertson emphasized that Salah had not been affected by the speculation, saying, “Mo has been Mo all week. He’s not been affected; I’ve been around him a lot, and he’s not been affected by anything. Mo has reacted in the best way possible.”
Salah continued to shine on the field, scoring in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, bringing his total goals for the club to 188.
Robertson acknowledged that speculation is part of the game and emphasized the importance of focusing on the upcoming season and getting the most out of the squad now that the transfer window is closed.
Despite missing out on Champions League qualification in the previous season, Liverpool has had a positive start to the current campaign, sitting third in the Premier League table at the first international break, having secured 10 points from a possible 12.
