LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICEOF NAIJA) – Luis Enrique has rejected Neymar’s assertions regarding the supposed “hell” he and Lionel Messi endured during their time at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Both star forwards parted ways with the reigning Ligue 1 champions in 2023. Neymar, the Brazilian international, moved to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, six years after his record-breaking €222 million (£190m/$240m) transfer to France.
Meanwhile, Argentine icon Messi now plays for Inter Miami in the United States.
Their arrival at Parc des Princes was anticipated to bring the elusive Champions League success, but they fell short of that goal.
The demanding PSG fanbase grew disheartened with Neymar and Messi’s performances, subjecting them to terrace jeers.
Neymar recently asserted that the two South American stars endured a “hellish” experience before leaving the club.

The new PSG manager, Luis Enrique, is reluctant to engage in discussions about Neymar and Messi’s challenges, sharing his perspective on his own time at PSG:
“These are personal experiences. I don’t want to delve into that. I can speak about my own experience:
“I am extremely content. I feel like I lead a unique team with a club that has complete confidence in me.”
PSG has reportedly informed L’Equipe that both Messi and Neymar “wanted to stay,” while refraining from commenting on the “hell” allegations. Former French international Robert Pires has criticized the two superstars as “crybabies.”
The 1998 World Cup winner told Canal+: “I would call that being crybabies. Being a professional player means dealing with pressure.
“Sometimes, when you perform well, you enjoy the praise. When things aren’t going your way, it’s all part of the game.”
