LAGSO, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, the director-general and chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the leave, which begins on August 24, 2023, would result in his retirement from the company on November 24, 2023.
Ex-President Mohammadu Buhari gave his approval for the appointment of Aziz as the commission’s CEO in November 2015.
After his term ended in 2019, Buhari approved a renewal, allowing Aziz to serve a second term that would finish in November of current year.
Tinubu also gave his approval to Bisoye Coker-Odusote’s appointment as the interim director-general and CEO of the NIMC, according to a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s special assistant on media and publicity.

According to Ngelale, the position, which is likewise for a duration of 90 days, will begin in August 24, 2023. After that, on November 24, 2023, the substantive director-general and CEO of the NIMC will start their four-year term.
The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) is now under the leadership of Coker-Odusote as general manager and CEO.
Additionally, Tinubu gave his approval to Yusuf Buba Yakub’s appointment as the CEO and director of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).
Ngelale declared, “This appointment is effective immediately.
The decision, according to him, was made when Pius Osunyikanmi, a former DTAC director and CEO, had his contract recently expire.
Yakub represents the Gombi/Hong federal constituency in Adamawa in the house of representatives.
