LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Kylian Mbappe is said to have come fourth in Paris Saint-Germain’s captaincy vote amid ongoing speculation about a potential transfer to Real Madrid
RMC Sport reports that a second anonymous poll conducted within the PSG squad has confirmed Marquinhos as the team’s captain. This Brazilian center-back has held this role since Thiago Silva’s departure three years ago.
Despite facing uncertainties due to inconsistent performances last season and a summer squad overhaul, Marquinhos has maintained his captaincy over Mbappe and two other players.
The second-place spot in the captaincy vote was secured by Danilo Pereira, followed by former captain Presnel Kimpembe, while Mbappe secured the fourth position.

This designation places him as a vice captain, allowing him to don the captain’s armband if the players ahead of him are unavailable during a match.
Mbappe’s contract with PSG is set to expire next summer. Although he has resolved differences with the club management and rejoined the first-team squad, the potential move to Real Madrid remains a contentious topic in Paris.
Reports indicate that PSG would consider allowing Mbappe to leave if a ā¬250 million (Ā£213 million/$272 million) offer is presented before the current transfer window closes.
However, Madrid reportedly finds this valuation excessive for a player with only a year left on his contract.
Regardless of the captaincy, Mbappe aims to continue contributing goals for PSG. He made a return to action against Toulouse, scoring a goal, and looks forward to enhancing his tally when Paris Saint-Germain faces Lens on Saturday.
