LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – An accident victim, Mr. Meyuwa Lelekumo Ayentega an indigene of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta state has sent a ‘save our soul’ message to the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori and other well–meaning Nigerians.
Mr. Lelekumo, who was on a wheelchair, addressed Journalists in his number 3, Old Ogorode road residence, off Mission Road, Sapele, disclosed that on 18 March, 2022, he was involved in a fatal automobile accident that almost claimed his life.
He added that he was on his way coming down to Sapele from Ondo State where he was doing his trading activities to attend the burial ceremony of his late mother.

The distressed man explained that he was on his own, driving along Lagos-Benin expressway, when he suddenly spotted a trailer on top of the controversial Ovia Bridge which is notorious to several accidents in the past close to Benin city.
According to him, he tried to apply his break but the break failed him completely since it was raining heavily and before he could realize what was happening, he was right under the vehicle.
He added that sympathisers came to his rescue by rushing him to the hospital somewhere in Benin City where it was certified by a doctor that he had a fractured hip, one leg including bruises in other parts of his body.

While crying out for help, he stated that the doctor had told him that before he could be discharged, he needed to pay a total sum of N3m before an emergency surgery could be performed on him to correct his system.
“As I am talking to you now, I have already sold every of my property to fund my treatment since last year but I could not get better. I was discharged from the hospital just like that since i could not afford the money. The doctor asked me to pay the money so that I can be operated upon. Now my brothers, referring to journalists who were with him. How can I get that amount?” he lamented.
“I am appealing to the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to come to my rescue. I know him to be a very good man hence I invited you people to help me reach out to him. He has been helping people. I remembered he took one boy who was almost killed by his guardians to hospital years back and gave him scholarship.
“All other well–meaning Nigerians please do not leave me to die in this my travail,” he appealed.
