The City of Newark has appointed Alhaja Temitope Adeshina aka Queen of New Jersey, as African Commissioner in Newark, New Jersey, United States of America.
The appointment is for a period of four years and may be renewed.
The oath of office was recently held at City Hall in Newark – the most populous city in the state of New Jersey and the seat of Essex County.
In her speech, she promised to work with other Commissioners to promote policies and awareness of issues concerning the cultural, social, economic, political, educational and general well being of the Africans here in the Diaspora.
Temitope Kudirat Adeshina is a woman of many parts. She is the CEO Toppy’K cleaning services, Toppy’K International Promotions, Toppy’K Intn’l Beauty Salon, and the founder of Ewa Asa (Beauty of culture) African Social/Cultural Organizations
She is also an actress. Alhaja Temitope started acting from secondary school, where she use to play the role of herbalist because it was a girls only school.
“I was privileged to feature in Baba Bello’s movie Okunfa in 1995 @ Ajewole, Ilorin Kwara state and since then I have been in and out.”
Her first appearance was roughly 26years ago.
Alhaja Temitope was born in Lagos, and grew up in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She attended St. Cyprian Catholic Primary School, then preceeded to St Annes School Molete for her secondary education.
She gained admission to Kwara State Polytechnic for her ND then preceeded for HND in Public Administration.
Alhaja Temitope had her first Certificate in Nursing at Bethlehem Royal hospital in United Kingdom, where she had her NVQ 1 n 2.
She is also certified as a Nursing Assistant in USA and have all her four companies registered in USA.
