LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Suspected cultists have reportedly killed a family head identified as Mr. Adie Ungwugwaye, in Bebuatswan village, Obudu Local Government Area of the Cross River State.
According to reports, youths alleged that the family elders were responsible for the death of one youth, Richard Unimke from the same community.
The young man, Richard Unimke was said to have been riding his bike around his neighbourhood in Bebuatswan village on 31 July, but collided with a herd of cattle.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital and was discharged after some days.
His condition was reported to have deteriorated on getting home and he was taken back to the same hospital on Sunday, where he reportedly died.
Sources in the community disclosed that young men, possibly friends to the deceased, said to be leaders of Ipong Youths Council from neighbouring Kakum village suspected that Unimke was killed diabolically.
It was reported that they hurriedly forced a family meeting of the elders to tell who was responsible.
According to the sources, as the family meeting was ongoing, the youths allegedly shot the family head, Mr. Adie Ungwugwaye dead and fled.

Speaking with journalists, another source close to the deceased confirmed that both bodies have been deposited at a morgue in the community.
“Police have already visited the crime scene but no culprit has been arrested,” the source added.
The State Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Irene Ugbo confirmed the incident, describing the culprits as cultists.
She added that the State Commissioner of Police, Gyogon Grimah had directed that a tactical team comb the communities and fish out the perpetrators in no time.
“We have not made any arrests yet. But I can confirm that the state commissioner of police has directed that perpetrators who have been confirmed to be cultists, be smoked out.”
