LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Elon Musk stated that the “cage match” that he and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg appear to have agreed to as a fundraiser will be broadcast live on X, formerly known as Twitter, which he controls.
“Zuck vs Musk fight will be live-streamed on X,” Musk posted. “All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.”
He did not provide any other information, and Zuckerberg did not provide a prompt denial.
Musk said, “I am lifting weights throughout the day, getting ready for the fight.“
After Zuckerberg’s Meta debuted its Twitter-like Threads network in early July and attracted approximately 120 million members.

According to Quiver Quantitative, the two billionaire entrepreneurs—who in the past occasionally sparred from a distance—became direct rivals.
Musk later wrote on X, “I’m up for a cage match if he is, lol,” in reference to a kind of Mixed Martial Arts in which competitors use several strategies, such as grappling or Brazilian jiu-jitsu, while being constrained by a small number of regulations.
Musk’s first, amusing challenge received a response on Instagram from Zuckerberg, a fan of martial arts who has competed in jiu-jitsu matches: “Send me a location.”
The encounter triggered a flurry of comments on social media and sparked a competitive round of betting on who might win.
Despite Musk’s apparent physical advantage—he is 52, the 39-year-old Zuckerberg emerged as the obvious favorite due to his combat expertise.
The battle has not been scheduled, but if it does take place, Las Vegas is the most likely location.

However, the introduction of Threads increased the strain already being put on Twitter.
Musk paid $44 billion for that social network before making a number of layoff announcements and opening it up to conspiracy theorists, which caused some advertisers to look elsewhere.
