ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Mr. Adeniyi Sanni, a long-time senior aide of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), the chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, was found dead with a gunshot wound in Lagos State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of today under circumstances yet to be clearly ascertained.
According to information received by the bereaved Senator in Abuja, Sanni was stopped at a check point around Berger Area of Lagos while he was on his way to his home in Isheri.
Security agents asked him to provide the documents for the car he was driving, which he promptly sent through his wife’s WhatsApp.

Later, Sanni’s apprehensive wife was unable to reach him on the phone, leading to the mobilization of a search party.
Tragically, passersby reached out to her through the Next of Kin phone number on her husband’s driver’s license, informing her that Sanni’s body was dumped around Toyota Bus Stop in Oshodi, with a gunshot wound.
Senator Adeola, currently engaged in the ongoing ministerial screening at the Senate, is devastated by the loss of his close aide of over two decades.
The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into this senseless killing.
