ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A 74-year-old former teacher, Anne N. Nelson-Koch, has been convicted on 25 counts of sexually abusing a teenage boy at a private school in Wisconsin during the 2016-2017 school year.
The disturbing incidents involved Nelson-Koch taking the boy to the school’s basement for the abuse, with the boy being just 14 years old at the time.
Despite the severity of the crimes, Judge Richard Radcliffe granted bail with a GPS monitor, pending her sentencing on 27 October, prompting discussions on the appropriateness of such a decision.
Assistant District Attorney Sarah Skiles commended the courage of the victim, describing him as an incredibly brave young man who spoke the truth, leading to the jury’s clear understanding of the case.
The prosecutor also recognized the crucial role played by Investigator Paul Sloan of the Tomah Police Department, whose dedication and thorough investigation were essential in achieving this outcome.
With the upcoming sentencing, the public awaits the final judgment on this deeply troubling case.
