ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has announced the implementation of palliatives to alleviate the economic hardships caused by federal government’s petrol subsidy removal.
The committee, headed by Deputy Governor Ifeanyi Ossai, is responsible for procuring, storing, and distributing relief items to Enugu residents.
Governor Mbah emphasized the need for transparency in handling the palliatives and urged the committee to swiftly deliver the items to those in dire need.
Governor Mbah stated: “We acknowledge the harsh impact of the fuel subsidy removal on our people, but believe it will benefit Nigerians in the long run.

“These palliatives aim to alleviate their hardships and we are committed to ensuring they reach those who need them the most in the state.”
The committee includes members such as the chairman of the Association of Local Governments in Nigeria (ALGON) in Enugu, chairman of Nkanu East council area, ALGON deputy chairman, chairman of Uzo Uwani LGA, chairman of Awgu LGA, Enugu East LGA chair, special adviser to the governor on agriculture, programme manager of Enugu State Agricultural Development Programme (ENADEP), and the head of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
