LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Real Madrid president Florentino Perez declares that he is “always calm” following the most recent development about Kylian Mbappe’s future.

The absence of the French striker from the Paris Saint-Germain team for their preseason tour of Asia has increased rumors that he is about to leave the team.

Perez was questioned once more this past weekend about Real’s long-standing advantage in the hunt to sign the 24-year-old.

When asked about the club’s interest in Mbappe while en route to cast his ballot in Spain’s election, Perez said to LaSexta: “I am always calm.“

He added with a wry smile: “Today, we vote, we don’t think of anything else, it’s a very important subject for the Spaniards.”

Mbappe has notified PSG that he would not exercise the option to extend his contract by an additional year as he has reached the last year of his current deal.

The French champions have informed him that if he doesn’t sign a new contract by this summer, he will be sold since they won’t allow him leave for free next summer.

While PSG is out on their preseason trip, the France star will wait to hear about his future.
