LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The long-awaited ChatGPT app for Android will be available starting next week, according to a weekend announcement from OpenAI.
Between November 2022 and April of this year, the business that created the newest generative AI platform ChatGPT observed it gain a cult-like following online.
Android smartphone customers will soon be able to download the official ChatGPT software on their devices, although OpenAI debuted their app for iOS users in May.
OpenAI is letting users pre-register in order to have the ChatGPT Android app downloaded immediately whenever it becomes available on the Play Store.
“This official app is free, syncs your history across devices, and brings you the newest model improvements from OpenAI,” the app’s description states on the Google Play store.
Open the Play Store on your Android smartphone, type in “ChatGPT,” and then hit the Install button to place a pre-order for ChatGPT for Android.

The software will automatically install when it is prepared, according to the notice you will see.
To finish the procedure, tap OK. If you’d want to stop ChatGPT for Android from downloading automatically, you may hit Unregister.
Users of ChatGPT can create text content by submitting questions and prompts pertaining to the material they want to create.
After then, the app will provide users responses, personalized guidance, creative inspiration, professional inputs, and educational possibilities.
The ChatGPT online version attracted over 100 million registered users shortly after its November 2022 launch.
Over 1.6 billion online visits are thought to have been made on the network’s web platform in the seven months prior to June.
As a result of the introduction of ChatGPT, numerous major technology companies, including Meta, Google, and Apple, have introduced their own iterations of chatbots that are driven by AI.
Global desktop and mobile website traffic to ChatGPT fell by 9.7% in June compared to May, while the number of unique website visitors fell by 5.7%.
According to analytics company Similarweb, the amount of time visitors spent on the website decreased by 8.5 percent.
David Carr , senior insights manager at Similarweb, reports that declining traffic is an indication that the novelty of the chatbot is wearing off.
