Luis Enrique to Take Over s New PSG Manager

LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Luis Enrique is reportedly ready to take over as manager of Paris Saint-Germain with a termination agreement in place with Christophe Galtier.

ESPN claims that Luis Enrique’s contract with PSG has been finalized, and he has already started working on team management and new transfer targets.

After Galtier’s retirement is made public this week, the Spaniard will be formally appointed to the hot seat at Parc des Princes.

Luis Enrique became a free agent after Spain’s elimination from the 2022 World Cup.

At Barcelona, where he previously enjoyed tremendous success, he won the Champions League, La Liga championship, and Copa del Rey in his inaugural campaign.

During his time at Camp Nou, he went on to win two more Copa del Rey championships in addition to a second La Liga championship.

Previously, Luis Enrique had been associated with Tottenham Hotspur, but negotiations with the Premier League team broke down, giving PSG the chance to pounce.

Galtier lost the confidence of the PSG board following yet another unsuccessful Champions League campaign in which PSG was eliminated in the round of 16 for the second consecutive year.

Legal issues have also plagued him. In connection with charges that he made racist and anti-Muslim remarks while working at Nice, Galtier and his son John Valovic-Galtier were detained and interrogated.

Although his kid was freed without being charged, Galtier has been ordered to appear in court in December to answer for allegations of psychological abuse and discrimination.

He could receive up to a three-year prison term and a $49,000 fine if convicted.

The aggressive, possession-based system of Luis Enrique is reportedly something that PSG managers Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaifi appreciate, and hope would help them win the Champions League.
