“Many have reached out to me on this case, but i have made it known that it’s not a personal thing. it’s the provision of the law, decency, and morals.”
Voiceofnaija.ng reports that the content creator whose real name is Abdullahi Adisa, had honoured the invitation of the Oyo State Police Command.
The State Police Command disclosed this in a post on its Twitter page on Friday.
The Command had invited the prankster after Civil Society Organisations and social media users slammed him for sexualizing a female minor in a trending video clip.
The latest development has garnered reactions from Nigerians with some praising the force for detaining Trinity Guy while others condemned them for not arresting MC Oluomo and Asari Dokubo.
A tweep @princeadeshina said: “Law is law, but chief, the Trinity guy has contributed 20% of his earnings to help humanity.”
@ola4672 commented: “I appreciate your effort over the matter and your concern for the moral implications of these skits makers pls don’t stop with him. We still have others.”
@mrchamp111 on his part asked what the guidelines for prank are.
“What are the guidelines for pranks. There should be a guideline posted publicly so one might not default again,” he wrote.
@yinzman also weighed in, saying: “Y’all saying they should detained him are all hypocrites.
“I hate you all. He definitely start those pranks to survive. Y’all now feels they should detain him for doing something that’s legitimate to survive. Correct him and free him. Give him second chance.”
“There’s a thin line between pranking and harassing people, he’s a nuisance and his pranks are way expensive. You’re going for an interview and he jumps out of no where scaring you into a muddy stagnant water, abi the one he got a minor involved? Speak with reason!” @chen_fu_lei replied @yinzman.
Another tweep @obidattinwannem wrote, “Asari Dokubo and Mc Oluomo nko?”
“@Princemoye1 what about Asari Dokubo openly threatened igbos with AK-47 in viral video or is he above the law that he can not be arrested so that others should learn,” @ejoonyishi tweeted.
