The immediate past Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Jibrin Barau, APC, Kano North has emerged as the Deputy Senate President.
His emergence followed the nomination by the former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi and seconded by Salisu Mustapha.
Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal declared him elected unopposed as there was no counter-nomination.
This is coming after Senator Godswill Akpabio won the senate presidency race in a keenly contested election.
