ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- As part of mechanisms to improve policing system across the country, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has deployed 86 Deputy Commissioners of Police DCPs and 206 Assistant Commissioners of Police ACPs to zonal commands.
The “strategic posting” was ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.
According to a statement on Saturday by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the officers are heading to Zonal Commands, State Commands and Formations.
The statement added that they will deputize other senior ranking officers in the discharge of critical administrative, investigative, and operational duties.
The IGP reiterated the commitment of the Force’s leadership to continually embark on initiatives to improve internal security in Nigeria.
He charged the newly posted officers to display experience, commitment to service, respect for fundamental rights, and evolve effective ways for crime control.
The Police chief further tasked them to ensure the utmost level of professionalism, community-oriented public service, and compliance with the rule of law.
Baba assured the public of “unhindered drives in all areas to effectively safeguard the people and strengthen our internal security”.
