ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – About three persons have reportedly died, while six others sustained injuries after two vehicles collided along the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Saturday.

The Punch reports that the accident occurred when a Toyota Highlander, with the number plate, KWL198KA, was travelling from Kaduna to Abuja and collided with a Volkswagen Golf with the number plate, MKA89ZY, which was coming from the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the collision left both vehicles badly damaged, leaving several passengers trapped.

The victims were immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, by emergency response teams.

However, three of them were pronounced dead on arrival, while the injured victims received treatment at the hospital and were said to be in critical condition.

The three dead bodies had been handed over to their family members after proper identification at the scene.

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem, had yet to respond to enquiries on the accident, as at the time of filing this report.
