On-Air Personality Dotun has berated former Big Brother Naija reality star Kiddwaya for his lack of emotional intelligence and ignorance over the latter’s reaction to Costa Titch’s death on Saturday, 11 March, 2023.
The South African rapper whose real name is Constantinos Tsobanoglou, died at age 27, after collapsing on stage during his performance at the Ultra Music Festival.
Reacting to his death, the family of the rapper-cum-dancer expressed grief at his passing while asking for time and space to come to terms with the demise.
Reality star Kiddwaya joined thousands of Africans to react to his death.
In a video shared on his social media platform, Kiddwaya blamed the death a lot of musicians on drugs.
He described the video of Costa Titch slumping and dying on stage as terrible because he was talented and extremely young.
Kiddwaya said managers need to do more to protect artistes “by doing regular blood test, BP checks, check if they are mentally and physically okay because a lot of these artistes are taking heavy doses of drugs to escape the world or to carry on the expectations and pressures from everybody”.
His reaction, however, has received severe backlash by Nigerians including the Energy gAD who said: “Kiddwaya carried table and chair to analyse a situation you have no privy information about.
“You are not a doctor, you were not at the show, neither do you even know this guy but you’ve assumed on what might have happened to him. Verdict: No emotional intelligence and ignorance.”
Media personality Ehiz also told the reality star to “stop pushing the drugs narrative. If your friends are rock star and they do drugs don’t think everybody does it.”
However, Kiddwaya who isn’t one to back down from an argument, fired back at Nigerians who misconstrued the point he was trying to make.
He tagged the celebrities and others dragging him as “fantastatically stupid and dumbass”, reiterating that managers need to protect their artistes more by doing regular checkups.
