The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, took his campaign rally to Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on Wednesday, 18 January, 2023.
He arrived in Abeokuta in a chopper at exactly 1:57 p.m.
The expansive Palace of Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, was full to the brim on Wednesday as residents and politicians trooped out to welcome Atiku, his wife, Mrs. Titi Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
Abubakar and Okowa join Ogun PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu and his running mate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade for their party’s campaign for the 2023 elections.
The PDP presidential candidate and his running mate, met with the PDP State Executive at the Party Secretariat at NNPC/Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta metropolis before heading for the campaign ground.
The people that accompanied Atiku are the National Chairman of the party, Iyorcha Ayu; former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, ex-Osun governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke.
Atiku took to Facebook to share photos from the rally alongside a caption: “Our rally in Abeokuta today was huge. The crowd was full of energy, even despite the hot weather.
“Thank you, Abeokuta, for your massive show of love. I must also specially thank the Alake of Egba land, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, for hosting my team and I during a courtesy visit to the palace. I am most sincerely grateful, Kabiesi. -AA”
