Enugu Fire Incident: Mbah Sympathizes With Victims, Describes It As Unfortunate

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Peter Mbah, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Enugu State, has sent his sympathies to the victims of fire incident which gutted many shops and goods worth millions of naira at Agu Nwede Plaza, Agbani Road, Gariki-Awkunanaw, Enugu.

The governorship hopeful described the midnight fire incident as tragic, sad, and unfortunate.

Voiceofnaija.ng had reported that not less than 15 shops with goods worth millions of naira were destroyed during the fire inferno that occurred about 11pm on Monday night.

The affected shopping plaza housed electrical shops, hair salons, phone accessories, a cafeteria, and motor/motorcycle parts.

Mbah in a statement issued by his media office on Tuesday, expressed regret that the victims’ means of livelihood have been affected by the incident.

He urged public spirited individuals and corporate organizations to help provide succor to them.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate commended the men of the Enugu State Fire Service, good-spirited individuals and leaders of Afor-Awkunanaw market for their timely intervention which he noted checked further spread of the fire.

He expressed happiness that no life was lost, praying that the Almighty God will grant all the victims a speedy recovery from their losses.
