Men of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a mother identified as Busola Oyediran and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel, on Friday, 13 January, for allegedly battering her two children aged 5 and 2

Concerned neighbours had alerted the Police of the constant physical abuse of the minors by their biological mother and her partner.

Following the report, the Police stormed the Egbeda/Idimu home of the couple and arrested them.

The Police later visited the hospital where the neighbours had taken the battered children for treatment.

When confronted, their mother claimed the children fell from a motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the pair’s arrest.

He said the couple is currently in detention and will be arraigned in court by Monday, 16 January, adding that the father of the children has been alerted.

The pictures of the brutality the children were exposed to, have caused an uproar on social media with many people condemning their mother and her partner for the evil act.

Comedian, Seyi Law said: “Are these people human beings at all? Ahhhh!”

@specialspesh, while commenting, also said: “Ahaha pikin wey you born!!! Even if no be you born am sef wtf!!!”

“Animals in human form. Not everyone deserves to be called a parent biko. This is too inhuman,” @justadetoun said.

In the same vein, @ada_thebaby slammed the mother and her partner, saying: “Your own flesh and blood!! I’m 100% sure the woman didn’t give birth to these children. You can’t tell me otherwise.”

@rahsulaiman also wrote: “People need to learn the difference between child abuse and discipline…. It’s easily mixed up!”
