The whole internet is still agog about Wizkid‘s concert that rocked Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, 16 November, 2022.
The Afrobeats star whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, got the crowd screaming, and DJ Tunez got the crowd hype.
The Grammy-winning singer set a new record on the international scene as he became the first African artiste to officially sell out the Madison Square Garden (MGS) in New York in one month.
This comes after he had his show at the garden on Wednesday, 16 November, and he completely sold out the 20,000-capacity hall.
One of the highlights of the event was the moment a top official in charge of the MSG was seen congratulating Wizkid over his new feat and presented him with a plaque.
Another highlight of the concert was Davido’s song was played by DJ Tunez was played at Wizkid’s concert to further pay tribute following the demise of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
In a viral video trending online, during the sold-out concert held at the Madison Square Garden in U.S., DJ Tunez played some of Davido’s hit songs and the audience sang along.
The DJ could be heard saying: “Davido we love you, OBO we love you”… This one is for OBO.”
American rapper, Busta Rhymes, was also present at the concert.
The rapper and actor, whose real name is Trevor George Smith Jr. in a viral video congratulated the Afrobeats star, over his sold-out show in the U.S.
Busta Rhymes was spotted backstage with several others, praising the afrobeats artiste for his successful performance.
He told Wizkid that it was his first time watching the Nigerian artiste perform up close, and it was incredible.
Along the line, the American Rapper collected Wizkid’s contact.
The Afrobeats artiste had recently released a 13-track album called “More Love, Less Ego”.
In an interview with Apple Music’s Dotty at The Roundhouse in London, Wizkid talked about the album, ‘More Love, Less Ego’ and what it means to him.
During the interview, which came on the heels of his Apple Music Live Performance on Monday, Starboy said that what the world needs at this moment is a lot of love.
During the interview, the singer talked about the live performance and what fans should expect.
On titling his album, ‘More Love, Less Ego’, Wizkid said it’s part of his life’s progression.
“I have a lot of love. I’ve got four kids. That fills my heart when my son kisses me goodnight or when he’s going to school. You can’t even buy that type of love. That’s all that matters.
“That is pretty much what I’ve been trying to say. This is what I live for; my kids, happiness, taking care of people close to me, my friends, spreading a lot of love, and just doing what I do best. Absolutely More Love, Less Ego, man.
“Everyone needs it, especially right now. And this war in Ukraine, man, 2022, right before our eyes. They are bombing people right now in Africa. It’s crazy. This is the album that helps, too,” he said.
Wizkid is currently touring across 4 countries and has 22 upcoming concerts.
After the Madison Square Concert, the singer will be heading to Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
