ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), has arrested one Mr Peter Okolie, a fifty-eight-year-old suspected to be gun manufacturer.

Arrested with his are nine (9) others from Agba Quarters Emuhu in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, by the Command led by lSP Christopher Igbaji.

The Police recovered from the suspects, forty-two (42) locally made single barrel guns, six (6) double barrel guns, three (3) pump action guns, two (2) filing machines, and a toolbox containing fabricated materials and working tools.

It was gathered that the arrest of the suspects were based on credible intelligence received by the Delta State Police Command of a syndicate specialized in manufacturing locally made guns.

The report was confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, in a statement signed and made to journalists.

Edafe noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali detailed the SACU team which carried out intensive raids on criminal hideouts in the area and recovered the guns.

“The exhibits were in custody and an investigation is ongoing.”

“He advised all to continue to partner with the Command by giving useful, timely and credible information that will help the Command to nip crime in the bud”, he said.
