ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Supporters of Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), have rejected the new priest brought to man the ministry as Mbaka is removed from Adoration Ministry and sent to Monastery.
By this new development, Mbaka will no longer be in charge to officiate liturgical activities at the Adoration chaplaincy.
Angered over the new development, Mbaka’s supporters attacked the new priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Amadi, who was brought as replacement.
When Fr. Amadi was introduced as a replacement for Mbaka yesterday, members revolted and refused to accept any priest to replace Mbaka.
Amadi had to be whisked away as members were said to have charged towards him while screaming, “We say no”.
Recall that Enugu Catholic Bishop Callistus Onaga suspended Mbaka from the ministry three months ago for commenting on partisan politics. This was after Mbaka said Peter Obi is a stingy man.
However, Mbaka was expected to return on Sunday 2 October and members thronged to the Adoration ground to receive him, but were disappointed when Mbaka announced his successor.
