IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The war between skit maker, Carter Efe, and upcoming singer, Berri Tiga, over the royalties for the hit track “Machala” seems like it would never come to an end.

Carter Efe and Berri Tiga gave fans of Wizkid something to celebrate with the release of the song which became an anthem for them.

However, the song has since been taken off all streaming platforms with different speculations surrounding the reason.

According to one report, the song was taken down because a split sheet wasn’t signed prior, leading to a misunderstanding between both artists.

The upcoming singer, Berri Tiga, took to social media to call out the popular skitmaker.

In the video, Berri Tiga spoke on how he wrote and sang Machala from the beginning to the end.

During the Instagram live session, the singer reacted after some fans asked if he produced the song.

According to him, he is 100% responsible for writing and singing the song. Not stopping there, Tiga added that he had no idea why the song was taken down from all streaming platforms.

He said, “I effing sang Machala. I wrote and I sang Macahala 100% bro. I wrote Machala, I sang Machala from the beginning to the enlared a screenshot of their chats via DM.

He further revealed that Hotkid should have featured on the song because he has a verse already, but he removed it based on Berri’s demands.

According to him: Hotkid get verse for Machala song, I personally tell producer X to remove it because Berri cry give me say Hotkid go collect him shine for the song. Now you dey claim sa na you get song for Instagram.”

The comedian turned singer then took a drastic measure by unfollowing Berri Tiga on Instagram.

In a recent video that has gone viral, Tiga opened up on his side of the matter after the skit maker called him ungrateful.

Berri Tiga, in the video, confirmed the proposal reached between him and Carter for the song was 95-5%, where carter takes the highest. He, however, added that they later renegotiated to 70-30, where he gets 30%.

The singer revealed he later received a call from popular skit maker Sydney Talker a day later to buy off the song for the sum of N100K.

Berri Tiga said; “We did a song, I sang the song from the beginning to the end, we dropped the song, you are not tagging me on your page, you are not carrying me to show.

You offered me a 95-5 percent, you taking 95 and me taking 5% off a song that I sang from beginning to the end. You sent a deal that I don’t have a right to perform this song, you said It was a mistake, we finally settled for 70% – 30%.

My management advised we do a 40-60 but i was like Carter should take 70, let me take 30 since Carter is promoting the song.

I got a call from Sydney talker and Carter the next day telling me that they are going to pay me off the song with one hundred thousand naira. A song I wrote from the beginning to end, where does that happen?”
