ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has condemned the gruesome attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy, and demand for immediate arrest of the criminals.
The Sunday evening ambush on Senator Ubah and his convoy by gunmen in Anambra, left some of his aides and security agents dead.
Ngige in a statement on Wednesday, described the attack as “atrocious, wicked and evil”.
The former Anambra governor said it was a huge setback to the relative calm witnessed in recent months.
Ngige charged security agencies to “hunt down and bring the murderous perpetrators to justice”.
He noted that many had thought “reprieve has come from the dreadful darkness that lately enveloped” the State.
“We must not allow that daylight horror to trip our determination to the cross-hair of another cycle of tragedies. Evil must not win.
“Ndi-Anambra must not succumb to fear but rally round the government and the security agencies to track the criminals terrorising our State,” he said.
Ngige however, thanked God for sparing Ubah’s life and prayed for His mercy on the families of the murdered aides and security personnel.
