IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerians are blowing hot on social media following Atiku Abubakar’s tweet about Queen Elizabeth’s ill-health.
In the early hours of Thursday, Buckingham Palace released a statement about Queen Elizabeth’s health, stating that her doctors are “concerned” for her health and recommended that she remain under medical supervision.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral,” the palace added.
The 96-year-old monarch has been dogged by health problems since October last year that left her with difficulties walking and standing.
On Wednesday, she pulled out of a planned meeting with her senior political advisors, after being told to rest.
Reacting to the Queen of England’s condition, the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and her family. May God’s presence be with them at this time. -AA”
His tweet didn’t sit well with some Nigerians as some dragged him for tweeting about the monarch but deleted his tweet about Deborah Samuel who was lynched to death for blasphemy in Sokoto state in May, 2022.
A tweep, @okparakennedy2 said, “You deleted a post you made about Deborah, here you are trying to be notice where you can’t be noticed. Wetin concern you with Queen Elizabeth?”
Agarra Wells: “I join you to send my prayers to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and her family. May God’s presence be with them at this time. – AW
Dear Atiku Abubakar, YOU WILL NEVER BE THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA”
@mrdueprocess: “Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II is a world figure and a precious point to the world, the concerns shown by His Excellency @atiku is an indication that he’s not unconnected with the realities of the day. That’s a person with human feelings.”
@gleanersD responded to @mrdueprocess: “Human feeling? But they burnt Deborah and the human feeling disappeared. You are still typing rubbish because she is not your sister.”
@GovMatthew: “A Nigerian, Deborah Samuel was beaten and burnt to death,he made a post and deleted it sharp sharp due to fear. If he deletes a post about the Nigerians he want to rule and can post for an outsider, let him contest for PM of UK”
@praiseudeme91: “Na so to enter power do you reach? Person dey on medication you don write tribute…. Dear ATIKU it’s uncalled for🤝”
