The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, will visit Nigeria on Sunday, 29 October, and Monday, 30 October. According to reports, he will be visiting Africa’s most populous nation with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Less that 24 hours after a judgement of a Federal High Court, Abuja, disqualified him from participating in the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa state, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the election, Chief Timipre Sylva, has asked the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, to set aside the judgement.
