LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Cristiano Ronaldo refrains from setting long-term goals and is noncommittal about playing into his 40s.
Although he’s currently 38 years old and still performing at an elite level, he’s hesitant to predict the future.
Having excelled for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr this season and amassing his 125th goal for Portugal during Euro 2024 qualification, Ronaldo’s continued success is probable, provided he avoids injuries.
His enduring career is likely to extend into 2025 and beyond.

When questioned about his future, Ronaldo shared, “Recent events in my personal and professional life have made me focus more on the short term. Some suggest I’ll keep playing until I’m 40 or 41.
“I don’t establish such specific targets. It’s about savoring the present, which is quite enjoyable. I feel great.
“My body has responded well to how I’ve cared for it over the years. I’m content both with my club and the national team.
“I’ve scored numerous goals, and I’m in excellent physical shape. It’s all about enjoying the moment.”
Ronaldo is reportedly interested in participating in the 2026 World Cup, potentially extending his career until at least the age of 41.
His dedication to maintaining peak physical condition and constant self-improvement suggests that it will be some time before he hangs up his illustrious boots for good.
