LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – WhatsApp is reportedly in the process of creating novel text formatting tools, potentially offering advantages to coders, programmers, and software developers.
Features were recently detected in the most recent WhatsApp for Desktop beta update and are said to encompass three distinct formatting utilities and aim to simplify the sharing and comprehension of codes within WhatsApp.
Moreover, there’s a possibility that these tools might become accessible to Android and iOS users down the line.
In a recent development, WhatsApp has also introduced the ability to share high-definition photos for all users on the stable platform.
As per a report from WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp development tracking source, the platform is actively developing three innovative text formatting tools.
These tools are designed to facilitate the legibility and distribution of technical codes on the platform. The report indicates the inclusion of a “Code Block” feature, intended to render technical codes coherent and readable on WhatsApp.

This function is anticipated to be useful for software developers, programmers, and other individuals aiming to share code snippets via the app.
In parallel, an additional “Quote” feature is purportedly integrated within this fresh set of tools. This particular formatting utility reportedly empowers users to reference specific messages or responses within a conversation.
The report also suggests that this forthcoming quote text formatting tool will enable users to highlight a specific excerpt of text and directly respond to it, a departure from the existing quote text feature on the platform.
Nevertheless, there has been no official communication from WhatsApp regarding the timeline for the widespread availability of these features among beta testers.

Currently, these tools are in the process of being developed within the beta framework. As is the norm with features under development, the messaging platform might introduce them as part of a beta update before incorporating them into the stable version or potentially abandoning the features altogether.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp recently introduced the capability for all users to share high-definition photos.
This enhancement enables users to transmit images of superior quality and resolution within their WhatsApp conversations, spanning Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web, and desktop versions. Such images transmitted in high-definition will carry a small ‘HD’ icon.
Furthermore, Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, has also announced forthcoming support for high-definition videos.
