LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) A new feature that enables creating numerous accounts on the well-known messaging service WhatsApp has started to trickle out to beta testers.
The current solution for customers who wish to add a second account to their smartphone is to install a WhatsApp clone, which is a function available on select Android devices.
Instead, the current beta version of WhatsApp now has a new multi-account feature that includes an account switcher that allows users to move between their primary account, which is connected to their smartphone, and additional WhatsApp accounts.
WhatsApp just handed out a new beta version to testers containing the multi-account capability, according to a report from feature tracker WABetaInfo, which is owned by Meta.
As of right now, it is only available to a small number of WhatsApp beta testers who have updated to version 2.23.17.8 for Android, but it may spread to additional people over the next several weeks.
The current beta edition of the functionality was not tested by Gadgets 360, and it appears that a server-side switch is used to activate it.

A little downward-pointing arrow symbol next to the QR code in the settings menu will appear when the functionality is activated on WhatsApp. The principal account and an Add Account button are displayed on a card that appears.
By pressing this button, you may sync recent messages from an account that is registered on another device with your phone.
The popup card, which also functions as an account switcher, will display the phone number associated with that WhatsApp account, according to a screenshot of the feature provided by WABetaInfo.
This means that users will be able to easily distinguish between accounts in addition to the profile picture and username. It was previously discovered that the functionality was under development in June.
Previously, WhatsApp offered a “companion mode” that allowed users to add an iPhone or Android smartphone as a secondary device, allowing them to utilize the same account across many platforms.
However, customers can only utilize one account per device at this time. You can “clone” WhatsApp on some Android handsets, including Samsung’s, so you can add a second account to your phone.
According to the feature tracker, users will be able to access personal chats and work conversations more conveniently with the multi-account feature, provided they have separate accounts. Notifications and conversations will also be displayed separately.
