LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-WhatsApp beta has added new features to the company’s testing version of the well-known messaging program.
This function lets users initiate a voice call in a group. It was formerly known as audio chats.
A feature that might aid with better group management on the platform was also included in a recent beta update: the ability to submit messages to group admins for evaluation.
At a later time, users of the stable channel should start to receive these functionalities.
Voice conversations will become available to select beta testers with the release of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.19, according to WABetaInfo, a tracking service for WhatsApp features.
By swapping out the call symbol for a waveform icon, this feature modifies the way group audio calls work.
The voice conversation can be joined by additional group members by tapping the symbol.
These audio conversations won’t ring your phone, though; instead, each group member will get a push notice, unlike a group voice call.
A few screenshots from the feature tracker that demonstrate how the feature functions in a group have been supplied.
Group members can join and participate in voice chats as though they were ordinary audio calls after one has been started.
According to WABetaInfo, idle calls will be automatically terminated after one hour. Only 32 users would be allowed to join at once, thus mirroring WhatsApp’s current call-related restrictions.

However, WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.18, which was made available over the weekend, apparently has a new feature that aims to enhance group moderation.
Group members may now submit messages to a group’s admin for evaluation using WhatsApp’s new Submit for admin review checkbox, which is available in the group settings section.
Despite the fact that users may now report messages sent by other users to WhatsApp, the messaging service recently introduced the ability for group managers to remove messages in order to enhance app moderation.
Users will be able to report individual messages made to the group to admins when this functionality is activated so that they may be deleted, according to WABetaInfo.
Administrators may use the function to catch messages they might miss while they are not looking at their phones.
The availability of these functionalities to all users of WhatsApp has not yet been announced by the company.
Despite upgrading to the most recent version of the app, Gadgets 360 was unable to confirm the availability of any of these features.
This implies that they may be made available by a server-side update, and users who install the most recent beta version might gain access to the feature in the coming days.
