LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Members of a vigilante group in Anambra State have arrested six people at different locations in connection with the vandalization of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) facilities in the state.
The culprits were arrested in Umueri Ezumeri village, Oraifite, along the Onitsha/Owerri road.
The Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, in a statement on 15 March said the activities of the vandals were crippling services to customers.
According to the statement, one Amadi Okey was arrested for vandalizing steel and copper wire, while Onyekachukwu Ifennadolu, was arrested for vandalizing aluminium bare conductor.
Another culprit, Chidiebere Agbalusi was arrested at Oraifite in possession of vandalized aluminum cable and a cutter, while the duo of Usulu Solomon and Nwafo Emeka were arrested for vandalizing 16 spans of bare conductor wire.
He further stated that the alleged receiver of the vandalized items in person of Ejike Nwoba has also been arrested.
