IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries has just escaped an assassination attempt.
The convoy of the Nigerian televangelist was reportedly attacked on Friday, 21 October.
According to information gathered by TV360Nigeria, seven of the clericās entourage were killed in the assault.
Dickson Omodiale Osajie, an International Certified Security Expert, and a Global Security Analyst, confirmed the attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy on Twitter.
He wrote: āBrethren, Apostle Johnson Suleman just got of the phone with me now. He escaped Assassinās this afternoon Sadly his 7 members were all gone down. May God rest Their soul.ā
The Apostle, his wife and children were said to be travelling along the Benin-Auchi road when unknown gunmen opened fire on his entourage.
According to reports, the controversial cleric survived the attack on his convoy but his aides who were shot died during the attack which is believed to have been carried out in an attempt to kidnap the cleric.
Apostle Sulemanās vehicle which is said to be badly damaged had escaped narrowly with the rims as the tyres had been shot.
An unconfirmed report indicated that Apostle Sulemanās first daughter was shot during the attack on his convoy by unknown gunmen.
It is unclear if the Apostleās daughter who was shot survived the ordeal.
