LAGOS, NIGERIA (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Climate Action Africa (CAA), an influential organization advocating for climate resilience and sustainable development, has announced that applications are now open for the Deal Room at the 2024 Climate Action Africa Forum (CAAF24).
The Deal Room is an innovative platform aimed at connecting impactful climate innovators in Africa with potential investors who are eager to accelerate sustainable solutions.
CAA’s strategic initiative, the CAAF Deal Room, focuses on innovators in the climate-tech sector, including emission reduction, energy, agriculture, transportation, circular economy, and building and construction.
The primary objective of the Deal Room is to select finalists who will have the chance to present their innovative ideas and solutions at the upcoming 2024 Climate Action Africa Forum in Lagos, Nigeria, scheduled for June 19th.
The Deal Room aims to stimulate investments in Africa’s green economy by fostering a community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors committed to practical solutions that address the challenges of climate change on the continent.

Co-founder and Executive Director of CAA, Grace Oluchi Mbah emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between promising climate ventures and the resources they need to thrive.

“By facilitating connections between passionate entrepreneurs and dedicated investors, we can collectively unlock the immense potential of climate solutions in Africa.”
According to CAA, financing will be facilitated for solutions that contribute to the growth and sustainability of Africa’s green economy during the Deal Room session.
This can include various types of deals such as prize money, equity plans, debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and other investment options.
Eligible applicants include venture capitalists, impact investors, climate tech startups, Green SMEs, philanthropic organizations, and government representatives.

To be eligible for applying, the company must be African-owned, for-profit, and operating in any of the 54 African countries.
It should have a 1-5 year operational history, leveraging digital technology in its business model. Female ownership is also considered an advantage.

Following the CAAF24 deal-room, the CAA announced that there will be a post-event accelerator program in collaboration with the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute and IDEA Africa.
This Africa-wide initiative aims to further accelerate and provide enhanced support for promising Climate Tech startups and founders who participated in the Deal Room, further driving Climate Tech innovations throughout Africa.
