ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dele Momodu has accused the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike of being disloyal to the party and claims.
He said though Wike is working under the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, the president’s camp does not trust him.
Momodu said this on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s breakfast show, Sunrise Daily.
Wike who was a former governor of Rivers State, supported Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election following some disputes with the leadership of the PDP over the party’s decision to make Atiku Abubakar – from the northern region – its flag bearer for the exercise.
Later, he was appointed FCT Minister but has yet to leave the PDP, even as the party has not sanctioned him despite calls for such.

But Momodu, a publisher, criticized Wike for his stance and accused him of trying to destroy the PDP.
He said, “Wike feels he is fooling Tinubu and his people, but Tinubu’s people know him very well.
“There is no Nigerian today who does not know that Wike cannot be trusted in any matter especially if it affects his interest in power. For him, power is everything. Money is everything.”
While there were efforts to reconcile Wike and the PDP, that did not happen, the FCT minister’s fallout with the party led to the PDP losing the presidential election in Rivers State to the APC.
Momodu however, believes the FCT minister took the matter too far by working against the PDP.
“What a man should know is that when you cut your nose, thinking you want to spit your face, you would look awkward.
“We have left him and we are watching him,” he noted.
Momodu also insisted he would have sanctioned Wike if he were in a position to do so, stressing that the PDP should take action against the minister to put the party in the right stead.
