LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-LAPO Microfinance Bank has collaborated with TEDx Lagos to shine a spotlight on and advocate for African women’s ideas on the global stage during the TEDx Lagos Women conference held at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos.
The event served as a platform for accomplished Nigerian women to share inspiring ideas that resonate globally, offering hope to individuals striving to overcome stereotypes and succeed despite challenges.
Speakers at the TEDx Lagos Women conference were from diverse sectors of the creative industry and made significant contributions, leaving a lasting impact on Nigeria’s history.

Mr Oluremi Akande emphasised that the core aspiration driving the bank’s collaboration with TEDx Lagos is to amplify women’s ideas and ensure their global visibility and recognition.

He stressed that the collaboration presents a chance for the bank to endorse initiatives that champion gender inclusivity, in line with the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day.
He said: “The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day ‘Inspire Inclusion’ is what has translated into this event. We are very proud to partner with TEDx Lagos because we believe this is an opportunity for women’s voices to be heard.”
The TEDx Lagos event curator, Mrs Mercy Akamo, hinted that the core of the TEDx Lagos Women event is to showcase the innovative spirit of women who are breaking barriers in their careers and businesses.
“The goal is to inspire younger women worldwide and facilitate the support they need, locally and globally,” she said.
Akamo emphasised that amplifying women’s voices enriches the global idea pool stating that through the TEDx Lagos Women conference, viewers worldwide can access these ideas, fostering connections and inspiring career and business growth.
