LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- An estate agent, Adeshina Olutuyishe, aged 54, found himself in the dock at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday, facing allegations of involvement in a N150,000 accommodation scam.
Olutuyishe, a resident of No. 8, Bada Street, Oshodi, Lagos, stands accused of obtaining money under false pretenses, to which he pleaded not guilty.

According to the Police Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, the incident reportedly occurred in April 2023, at Mafoluku Oshodi, Lagos.
It is alleged that the defendant collected N150,000 from the complainant, Ekaete Essien, promising to secure a one-room apartment for her.
However, since receiving the money, Olutuyishe has purportedly been evasive, providing various excuses and failing to refund the money upon demand.
The prosecution stated that Olutuyishe’s actions contravene Section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate Bola Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until April 24 for mention.
