LAGOS Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A Civil Society Organization, CSO, operating under the banner of the Nigerian Unemployed Youth Vanguard, NUYV, has issued a call to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging immediate action to restructure the leadership of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The group contends that the current administration of the apex bank lacks the necessary expertise to effectively address the ongoing economic challenges in the country.
Speaking at a press conference held in Abuja on Monday, National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Momoh and Director of Programmes Comrade Igwe Ude-Umanta highlighted the urgency of the situation.

They expressed concern over the management of Nigeria’s economic crisis under the leadership of Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, asserting that existing policies have failed to yield tangible solutions.
The CSO, stressed the importance of revitalizing fiscal and monetary policies to alleviate the hardships faced by citizens.
They criticized the perceived inadequacy of the CBN’s response to the nation’s economic challenges and emphasized the need for decisive action to restore hope and confidence.
While acknowledging recent improvements in the Naira’s exchange rate against the dollar, the CSO cautioned against premature celebrations, citing the transient nature of the measures implemented by the CBN.
They underscored the importance of implementing coherent and sustainable policies to achieve lasting economic stability.
