ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)– A Lagos State Magistrates’ court sitting in Etiosa, Ajah, had ordered the remand of One Omorogbe Jennifer Soni, in Kirikiri prison for assaulting a police woman.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in a statement on his official X handle on Monday.
“What has this superintendent of police done to deserve this unwarranted assault? The matter should be investigated and the offender punished to serve as deterrent to others”, the said.
The incident was reported to have occurred at Ajah, Lagos State.

According to the state police spokesperson, the suspect who committed the offence on 21 February, was arrested the next day, and will remain in custody until the next hearing on 27 March.
The statement read, “The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned one Omorogbe Jennifer Soni ‘f’ aged 26 for serious assault after she was caught on camera assaulting a police officer in Ajah on February 21, 2024.
“Omorogbe was arraigned the following day, February 22, 2024 at the Etiosa Magistrate Court, Ajah and has been remanded at the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until the next hearing on March 27, 2024.’’
He urged Lagosians to remain law-abiding but warned that “anyone found guilty of violating the law would be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
Meanwhile, an X user by name, Umasom Jeremiah (@umasomjere19798), on 26 February, 2024, posted a video that captured the suspect pushing to the ground the police woman who was about to deflate Jennifer’s tyre for a yet to be known offence.
