ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Police Command operatives have successfully apprehended two male suspects, Chekwube Nwobodo (27) and Ifeanyi Edeh (30), at Obinagu-Etiti Nara-Unateze in Nkanu East Local Government Area on 3 January, 2024.
The swift response to a distress call by operatives from the Nkanu East Police Division led to their arrest.
The Police recovered from them a locally fabricated pistol, live cartridges, suspected crystal meth (Mpkuru-Mmiri), and Marijuana, according to a press release issued by Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command.

The suspects, along with other escaped gang members, are accused of carrying out armed robberies, burglaries, and various criminal activities in the area.
While the remaining members are being actively pursued, the arrested individuals will face legal consequences once investigations are completed.
This operational success aligns with the 2024 New Year assurances of Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, who pledged a more proactive and forward-looking policing approach for the year.
The Enugu State Police Command assured further that it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the state’s residents.
