ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has spoken up about reported plans to increase the fuel pump price to N1,200 per litre.
The rumor had been rife in town that Nigerians were set for another round of hardship as the increase of petrol prices would definitely lead to inflation.
However, in a press statement made available to Voiceofnaija.ng on Wednesday, 3 January, 2024, NNPCL assured Nigerians that such will not happen.

The statement signed by Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL, reads: “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
“NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.
“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country”.
