LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A fight has broken out among church congregants in a New Jersey Anglican Church, United States of America, dominated by worshipers from Nigerians, over the transfer of a new bishop, who allegedly supports same-sex marriage.
The previous Bishop (yet to be identified) who is a Nigerian was removed and a new one, Bishop Ross, an American, installed.
However, the development didn’t sit well with members of the church who went protesting against Ross, insisting that the church is mainly Nigerians and as such needs a Nigerian clergy to preside over them.
In the video, a congregant filming the rowdy session said a particular Bishop Ross cannot hijack the church, adding that Nigerians do not believe in the same thing as him.

She added that the clergyman was not welcome in the church, and that he was an intruder Bishop from Colorado and a police officer from Irvington was also present.
She said, “You are not welcome here, you’re not welcome.
This is happening in Igbo Anglican Church, Irvington, New Jersey. This is an intruder Bishop that came all the way from Colorado to come and hijack our church.
And a police officer is here from Irvington police. This is what we’ve been facing. No, we don’t believe in the same thing. I don’t care, we don’t believe in the same thing!
Bishop Ross cannot hijack our church. You cannot hijack our church. This will not happen. It will not happen.”
