LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Facebook and Instagram introduced an integration allowing users to shop on Amazon directly through these social apps.
This partnership with the e-commerce giant enables a streamlined shopping experience, permitting customers to select and purchase items without leaving the Facebook or Instagram platforms.
Presently, this feature is accessible to Amazon customers within the US.
This collaboration, spotted by Disruptive Digital CEO Maurice Rahmey, establishes a closed-loop shopping encounter, enabling users to browse and finalize purchases within a pop-up view on Facebook or Instagram.
To access this seamless shopping experience, users need to link their Amazon, Facebook, and Instagram accounts.

Rahmey highlighted that this integration might bypass restrictions imposed by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency policy.
According to Rahmey, the Meta-Amazon alliance stands to benefit both entities differently.
Amazon could see increased transaction fees from Meta’s vast userbase and ad network, boosting seller conversion rates.
Simultaneously, Meta would gain more data from Amazon users, augmenting its platform and driving increased conversions.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the rollout of this in-app purchase flow to TechCrunch, mentioning that US customers would gain access to essential Amazon details within the apps, such as delivery estimates, product availability, and real-time pricing.
As of now, this new shopping experience is limited to US users, with no indication from either company regarding its expansion to other regions like Europe or Asia.
