LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Adamawa State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers who posed as customers and kidnapped a 9-year-old boy in Mubi South Local Government Area of the State.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement to journalists, said one tricycle, three handsets, mat, and other items were recovered from the suspects.
According to the PPRO, the suspects demanded a ransom of N5m from the victim’s father.
“The Adamawa Police Command has on 19 October, arrested six suspected kidnappers for allegedly kidnapping a 9-year-old boy and demanding N5 million ransom in Mubi-South Local Government Area of the State,” the statement read.

The suspects, Abubakar Mohammed; 23, Auwal Usman; 21, Mohammed Abubakar; 31, Umar Mohammed; 20, Abdulhameed Musa; 19 and Muhammad Nasir; 20, all residents of Maiha Road and Kaba Ward in Mubi-South/North LGAs, were arrested after they kidnapped Mustapha Ibrahim on 18 October at about 18:00hrs,”
“The suspects were arrested following the complaint received by the father of the victim on 19 October, that some unknown faces came to his house around 1800hrs with pretence to buy Zobo Juice and lured out his 9 year old boy
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola while expressing happiness, commended DPO Mubi South and his men for rescuing the child and denying the criminals the opportunity of escaping arrest.
The CP assured of Diligent prosecution of the suspects.
