LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Nigerian man has taken to social media to lament his heartbreak after he found out his girlfriend was constantly having sex with her neighbor and doing hard drugs.
In a post on the X platform, formerly Twitter, the yet-to-be identified man disclosed that he had been in the relationship for three years without knowing his girlfriend for who she really was, which has shattered his heart.
The post reads, “I come with a heavy heart, the worst has been done to me. My girlfriend has shattered my heart and I don’t know what to do with my life anymore.
“I started dating this young lady (Jennifer in 2021) immediately after the corona virus year. Jennifer is beautiful inside out, she was so perfect and I wouldn’t even imagine for a second that she would hurt me.
“Our relationship blossomed until early this year, her rent was to expire in March this year so I already made plans for her to move in with me while I’ll go and start meeting her people, but she insisted I renew her rent, her reason being that she can’t live with me until I marry her completely. It was a good reason but it made me really think, why pay your rent when you can live with me. I live in a bigger space.
“So I paid her rent and let it slide, there’s nothing I have not done for Jennifer, there’s nothing she wants that I don’t buy. I make sure she doesn’t lack anything. Somehow she started to change, whenever I talk about the marriage issue, she’ll just push it aside.
“I was wondering what’s happening, she said she’s not ready for marriage that we don’t have to rush and we still have time. I was shocked. She said I’m acting desperate that I should calm down. Honestly I wasn’t expecting all these excuses.

“I always notice this guy lives in her compound, precisely her next door neighbor. Guy looks like all those yahoo boys and bad boys. She was always taking about him and sometimes she doesn’t even know that she has said much.
“I started suspecting my babe and that neighbor; sometimes she says she’s in his house or he’s in her house. She either says he came to fix something in her place or to charge with her charger and all those plenty nonsense. I just let it because if I talk she will spark. I send her money a lot, she recently started demanding for more money, something she didn’t do before.
“One time her fone was having issues, I took it to my guy to go and repair. So I started gisting my guy about her recent behavior. He advised me to go through her fone. He opened the fone and we went through her messages and chats. She saved her neighbor’s contact as “Joy giver” that’s when I clicked in my head that she’s not a saint.
“We went through the chat of this guy and they chat every second of the day. They flirt and say all manner of things. Finally we went deep into their chat. I discovered my girlfriend has been having marathon sex with her neighbor. They also do drugs, all kinds of crack and coke. They smoke and she sends him nudes.
“I discovered the money she’s been demanding from me was to get hard drugs. I almost fainted. So I’ve been dating rubbish all the while and I didn’t know, love blinds you completely. The neighbor was even the one that advised her not to move in with me. He told her to make me renew her rent and she did as he told her.
“She has been calling and texting and begging, so I had to block her everywhere possible. I cried my eyes out for days, I couldn’t go to work or eat but my sisters and brothers helped me through it and I’m sane again.
“Three years relationship just ended in such a horrible way, no wonder she didn’t want to marry, I’m glad God saved me from such a disaster.”
Nigerians have since taken to the comments session to wish him well while others aired their opinions regarding his ordeal.
Expressing pity over his ordeal, @numero_uno said: “It’s crazy what you went to without seeing the signs. It’s fine you’ve healed. Continue life with an open mind towards relationship.
@seunbayo89, giving his opinion on the matter said: “Money don’t keep a woman. Know that and know peace. Why are you paying as if you gave birth to her?
“She manipulated you and you fell for it. You saw so many red flags and decided to ignore thinking you are in love. Women will first self destruct before they have sense”.
@MikeYaoming added, “This was your cue that she was cheating. You totally missed it.”
