LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, earlier today, approved the appointment of Mr. Ola Olukoyede to serve as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This comes nearly four months after the suspension of erstwhile anti-graft agency chief, Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa and the appointment of acting chairman, Abdulkarim Chukkol.
Olukoyede hails from Ekiti State and is a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
He had his university education at the Lagos State University, University of Lagos: Institute of Arbitration, France and at the Kennedy School of Executive Education, University of Harvard, United States.
The new boss, who until today was the Secretary to the commission, was nominated by Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.

Before his role as a Secretary, he was formerly the chief of staff to the Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Magu (2016-2018).
He is a seasoned lawyer with several years of experience at the Bar and worked at the law firm of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo before joining the EFCC.
Olukoyede is a regulatory compliance consultant, who specializes in compliance management, corporate intelligence and fraud management.
He is a certified fraud examiner who has led and managed investigations and civil litigation of fraud and financial crimes in the International Development Project.
Olukoyode is well-travelled, a scholar who has attended a number of training programmes within and outside Nigeria, focusing on fraud and corruption investigation. He also specialises in Anti-Corruption Research and Analysis, Corporate and Business Intelligence Gathering and Process.
The new EFCC boss is a member of the Fraud Advisory Panel (UK) and also a member of the Federal Government Technical Committee on the Repositioning of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit.
He was born in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on 14 October 1969.
