LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NIGERIA ) Android 14 has commenced its rollout to compatible Pixel smartphones, offering enhanced security, accessibility features, and on-device generative AI tools.
At the recent Made by Google 2023 event, Google unveiled its Pixel 8 series running Android 14 out-of-the-box.
This includes models such as the Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, and Pixel Fold, as well as the Pixel Tablet.
Android 14 brings several notable improvements, particularly in the camera app, with features like “Ultra HDR” images, enhanced zoom capabilities in third-party apps, and improved low-light photography.
The camera app can also scan documents, converting them into digital format.
The lock screen on Android 14 now offers greater customization options, allowing users to choose custom lock screen clock designs and shortcuts.

Additionally, a generative AI tool can create unique wallpapers for both the home and lock screens.
The update also introduces a six-digit passcode option for quicker unlocking, support for passkeys for app and website logins, improved font scaling, pinch-and-zoom functionality, and compatibility with hearing aids for users reliant on accessibility tools.
A screen flash notification for incoming notifications is now available.
Android 14 features a new Health Connect API, enabling apps to access health data from a central repository and share information with other apps that have API access.
To download Android 14 on your Pixel smartphone, navigate to Settings > System > System update > Check for update > Download and Install.
If you haven’t received a notification, perform these steps and follow on-screen instructions to complete the update.
